Rokid Consumer Glasses vs Rokid Enterprise RV101

Discover business-oriented XR solutions at VR Expert:

Executive summary

If your organization is comparing “Rokid consumer glasses” with “Rokid enterprise RV101,” the first thing to clarify is naming. In Rokid’s current public lineup, the screenless Rokid AI Glasses Style is the more consumer-oriented model, while the display-equipped Rokid Glasses is the model family that Rokid’s Security Center maps to RV101/RV102. Rokid does not publicly present RV101 as a separate rugged enterprise headset. It presents it as a higher-capability AI and AR glasses platform with more business potential because it adds an in-lens display.

For most B2B buyers, the decision is simple. Choose Rokid AI Glasses Style if your priority is low-friction voice AI, meeting notes, calls, translations, and camera capture in the lightest frame and at the lowest entry cost. Choose Rokid Glasses RV101 if your teams need glanceable information in view, including captions, translation, navigation, prompts, and a more guided workflow without constantly checking a phone.

There are also two clear cautions. First, both products are still app-centric AI wearables rather than fully managed enterprise endpoints. In the public product, app, and developer materials reviewed here, Rokid documents companion apps, SDKs, and security-support windows, but it does not specify MDM, zero-touch provisioning, or centralized fleet controls. Second, neither model is publicly positioned like Rokid’s older industrial X-Craft line, which TeamViewer and industry coverage describe as a more workflow-specific and rugged device class.

This comparison is grounded primarily in Rokid’s official product pages, Security Center, Privacy Policy, official mobile-app listings, and Rokid developer materials, with independent context from The Verge, Tom’s Guide, TechRadar, VR Expert, TeamViewer, and TechCrunch.

What Rokid is actually selling

Rokid’s public AI line now splits into two products with very different business implications. Rokid AI Glasses Style is a screenless, voice-first smart glasses product that Rokid itself frames as its more consumer-friendly design, emphasizing 38.5 g weight, 12-hour battery life, hands-free AI, and camera capture over visual overlays. Rokid Glasses RV101 is heavier at 49 g, but adds a dual-eye monochrome Micro LED display, up to 1500 nits brightness, captions, subtitling, navigation, teleprompt-style prompting, and faster value for multilingual and presentation-heavy workflows.

That difference matters more than the “consumer vs enterprise” label. The Verge highlighted Rokid Glasses as one of the discreet smart glasses that stood out at CES because of their hidden monochrome display, while Rokid’s own launch materials describe the display model as suitable for both consumer and professional use. In other words, RV101 is best understood as a prosumer-to-business bridge device, not a classic enterprise wearable like RealWear or HoloLens.

Software, security, and manageability

From a software and deployment standpoint, Rokid is currently stronger on consumer onboarding and developer extensibility than on documented enterprise management. Rokid’s public pages show Bluetooth pairing for Style, companion-app setup for RV101, and app-based settings, album management, device settings, and adding devices. Rokid’s developer materials also point to YodaOS-Sprite and CXR SDKs for custom Android and companion-app integrations. What the public materials do not specify is an enterprise admin layer such as MDM support, zero-touch enrollment, kiosk policy control, or centralized provisioning. For procurement and IT teams, that means pilot first and validate everything yourself.

Security and privacy deserve extra attention. Rokid’s privacy policy says it collects account data, device and network information, IP address, approximate location, crash and troubleshooting logs, app engagement data, and device identifiers, and may share personal data with developers, affiliates, partners, and service providers. It also states data can be transferred outside the user’s home country. On Android, the RokidAR app listing says the app may collect location, personal info, and messages, while also stating no data is shared with third parties and that data is encrypted in transit. On iOS, the App Store listing says the developer reports no data collection for the Rokid app. Those platform declarations are not equivalent to a contractual enterprise DPA, so your organization should treat them as inputs for a formal security review, not a final answer.

Another practical detail is that Rokid’s AI model messaging is not perfectly consistent across public materials. Product pages emphasize GPT, Gemini, and GPT-5, while Rokid’s April 2026 Style announcement also mentions DeepSeek. For enterprise deployment, you should confirm which models are actually enabled in your region, what data path they use, and whether any premium features or subscriptions apply before you standardize on a rollout.

Business use cases and deployment complexity

For remote support, inspections, field documentation, and guided communication, RV101 is the better fit because the in-lens display adds glanceable captions, navigation, prompts, and translated text. VR Expert’s March 2026 review found the camera, contextual AI, setup flow, calls, and hands-free interaction compelling for inspections, remote support, and field documentation, while also noting roughly eight hours of mixed real-world use. That said, public case-study evidence for the current RV101 generation is still limited. In the sources reviewed, stronger public enterprise proof points still sit around Rokid’s older X-Craft and T1 devices, not the current AI-glasses family.

For meetings, travel, translation, daily communication, and executive productivity, Style is often the smarter buy because it is lighter, simpler, and cheaper. Rokid positions it around AI assistant use, real-time translation, navigation, photo recognition, meeting notes, hands-free calls, and all-day wear. Its weak spot is that it has no display, so translated speech, prompts, or workflow steps are delivered through audio and app interaction rather than in-view text. Tom’s Guide also flags no video-calling support, a proprietary charging approach, and a less rigid build than Meta’s Ray-Bans.

On limitations, RV101 is also not perfect. Official materials note that full navigation access requires a subscription, and independent hands-on testing says navigation is still basic while live translation and teleprompter behavior need refinement. Shared-device deployment is also harder if your workforce has mixed prescriptions, because optical inserts can turn a pooled device into a person-specific device.

Deployment timeline

A sensible rollout is not just a procurement exercise. It is a workflow, optics, security, and accessories decision. The setup path is companion-app based, the lens question can become personal rather than shared, and runtime depends heavily on use pattern and optional charging accessories.

Recommendation and pilot checklist

If your organization wants the most business value per euro, the recommendation is straightforward. Choose Rokid AI Glasses Style for executives, sales teams, travelers, and deskless staff who mainly need voice AI, calls, meeting summaries, translation, and first-person capture in a light everyday frame. Choose Rokid Glasses RV101 for multilingual support desks, presenters, supervisors, light field operations, and workers who benefit from in-view captions, translated speech, navigation, and prompts. Choose neither if you need rugged IP or ATEX credentials, mature industrial workflow software, or documented centralized device management out of the box.

For a pilot, use this checklist:

  • Define whether your use case is voice-first or display-first. That single decision usually settles Style vs RV101.
  • Validate prescription-lens needs before you plan shared pools, especially for RV101.
  • Review AI data flow, account creation, and international transfer with your security team.
  • Test battery under your real workload, not just vendor claims. Translation, video, and calls drain faster than casual use.
  • Budget for accessories and total cost of ownership, including charging case, capsule battery, and lenses.
  • Document which features are still immature or subscription-linked, especially RV101 navigation and current translation accuracy.

For most companies in 2026, this is the bottom line: Style is the better inexpensive AI wearable. RV101 is the better business workflow wearable. Neither is yet a full enterprise smart-glasses platform in the classic IT-admin sense.
