Product information HTC Vive Pro Full Kit
The HTC Vive Pro Full Kit is the second generation of Vive VR headsets and is highly suited to interactive training and memorable experiences at trade shows.
The HTC Vive Pro works in combination with a PC on the Steam VR platform. There are many interactive applications available on Steam VR that are very useful for business purposes. In addition, the comfort of the headset has been improved dramatically thanks to a new fastening system. The device has built-in headphones, which means that external headphones are no longer needed. This ensures fewer cables and a more enjoyable VR experience. The high resolution of 2880 x 1600 provides the optimum VR experience.
Compared to the Oculus Rift S, the quality of the HTC Vive Pro display is better. In addition, the room-scale tracking of the headset is of better quality than that of the Oculus Rift S. A disadvantage is that the device pro needs external trackers for room-scale VR.

Vive Pro Full Kit vs Oculus Rift S?
When you place the Oculus vs the HTC, the first thing you notice is that HTC has opted for separate tracking modules with this luxury version. This makes the Vive system a bit more laborious to install and configure, while providing unparalleled precision tracking from all directions. In addition, the Lighthouse system is also extensible, which does not apply to the Rift S. Put very simply when we place the Oculus vs the HTC , we can conclude that the Rift has made high-quality Virtual Reality simple, and that the Vive goes for optimal quality without making concessions. In addition, these products each serve their own target group.

What to do if one of the base stations does not detect?
Try the following methods to fix the problem:
Switch the base station off and on again.
Make sure you have properly installed the base stations.
If the base stations are having trouble synchronizing wirelessly with each other, there may be an obstacle in your playing area.
Check if using the sync cable would solve the problem.
Restart the SteamVR app. If you still get an error, restart your computer and the SteamVR app. -
What is the recommended space to use the headset?
The minimum space is 1.5 x 2 meters.
-
Which alternatives are there?
There are two headsets that are partly comparable; the Oculus Rift S and the Valve Index.
Oculus Rift S
This headset cannot match the Pro versions, although this system works without external trackers, which offers quite a few advantages. A PC or laptop is required to use this new Rift. The competitive price in particular makes this an interesting and affordable alternative.Valve Index
In many ways, the Index is comparable to the Pro version of the Vive, including a price that is significantly higher than Oculus’ headsets. The main advantage is the use of superior Knuckle controllers with which there are even more possibilities for interaction. There are only few apps available for this, it is therefore a new system with a very low market penetration. When buying a Vive, there are plenty of options, especially for business use. Keep in mind that there may be additional costs associated with the Enterprise program.

Which HTC to buy?
This brand does not yet have an extensive range of headsets, you can buy the Vive in a number of basic configurations, some of which are expandable with accessories. In addition, we also include the other models in the overview below for comparison.
Vive
A gamer at home can buy the standard Vive with trackers and controllers. This configuration works with most PC virtual reality games and offers a spatial experience. The model is based on the original 2016 design.Vive Pro
This improved design has been developed specifically for the professional market and offers a number of improvements for business applications. The headset has better balancing and is more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Standard 3D spatial audio is built in with headphones. The maximum range is 3.5 meters by 3.5 meters.Vive Enterprise
In many ways, the Enterprise version is similar to the Pro version, the main difference being a longer range of 7 meters by 7 meters thanks to the improved tracking. With this product, the price is also stated without VAT as standard to emphasize the business character.Vive Pro Eye
The most luxurious version is equipped with eye tracking, the system can follow the movement of the pupils. This can be used to enable specific interactions, it is also an excellent way to analyze the viewing direction for both scientific and commercial applications. In that case it is required to enter into an Enterprise agreement with the Advantage program.Vive Focus
This is a portable version with inside-out tracking, instead of using external trackers. Also, no connection to a PC is necessary because all necessary hardware is already built-in. This does mean a somewhat lower quality in graphics and technical possibilities. In particular, the simple controller without spatial tracking limits this device for advanced VR applications. Content for this platform is offered exclusively through VivePort.Vive Cosmos
At this time, the Cosmos has only been announced and not released. Few technical specifications are also known. The image resolution would be superior to other models, again using inside-out tracking, but this time with VR controllers for improved interaction.Which headset to buy? That strongly depends on the use. For home, the standard edition is enough, serious hobbyists and professionals will opt for the Pro version. The Enterprise edition is the obvious choice for frequent business use. The Pro Eye version is a niche product that offers interesting possibilities, provided that custom applications are developed for this.

Why buy a Vive Pro?
HTC was not the first company to release virtual reality headsets, the Oculus Rift came out a little earlier. The Vive was the first virtual reality headset with room-scale tracking thanks to the Lighthouse system and two controllers that enable spatial movement. With various improvements and new models, buying a headset seems more interesting than ever. Or are there alternatives that offer more functionality for less money?
In brief
The Vive is a virtual reality headset with full spatial tracking based on external trackers, operation is based on two controllers. It is an accessory for PC or laptop, it is not a standalone device. By default, these glasses must be connected via a cable, there is an option for a module that allows wireless transfer. In addition to the standard version, a Pro version is available in two editions and another Pro Eye version. HTC also produces other types of headsets such as the Focus and the Cosmos, which will be released soon. The hardware works on a Windows basis, in addition to the standard SteamVR App Store, they also offer their own subscription model called VivePort. Having custom applications developed is also an option. -
How long does the battery last?
The battery lasts over 2.5 hours. Remember that this is only possible in combination with the Wireless Adapter.
-
What to do if one of the base stations does not detect?
