The simplest way to install applications on the M-Series smart glass is via the smart glasses itself. When your device is connected to Wi-Fi, you can open the Vuzix App Store and download applications directly. 

If you would like to install a custom APK, then a computer and an USB cable are needed. You can install you custom software via the following steps:

1. Disconnect the battery unit from the Vuzix M400
2. Connect your Vuzix M400 via the USB-C port to the computer via an USB-C or an USB 3.1 port.
3. On the Vuzix device open Settings > Connected Devices > USB 
4. Then change the mode to Transfer Files on your Vuzix M400
5. The smart glass will now appear as a device on your computer
6. Drag your .apk file to the virtual SD Card of the device
7. On you M-Series smart glass, open the Files application and find the file you copied from your computer
8. Select the .apk file on your Vuzix device and install it.
