Product information Varjo VR-3
The Varjo VR-3 is the most advanced 6DoF PC VR headsets on the market. It is ideal for use in highly realistic training simulations, research in fully controllable VR environments and for design projects, all with human-eye resolution.
Key differences between the VR-3 and XR-3
First, the Varjo XR-3 has mixed reality capabilities, allowing users to interact with the virtual and real world simultaneously. The Varjo VR-3 can only be used for virtual reality applications.
Second, the VR-3 does not support inside out tracking, this means that SteamVR Base Stations are needed to use the Varjo VR-3.
The Varjo VR-3 and XR-3 also share the following advantages:
First, the VR-3 is one of the only VR headsets capable of recreating human-eye resolution. The VR-3 provides the user with human-eye vision. This is thanks to the fact that it has 4 high resolution displays inside the headset, allowing users to see even the tiniest of details. In comparison to the VR-2, the display has improved substantially, the VR-3 display provides users 70 pixels per degree compared to the VR-2’s 60 pixels per degree.
Second, the VR-3 has the most advanced and powerful Eye Tracker technology currently found in any PC VR headset. This makes the VR-3 perfect for research and gaining behavioral insights, allowing data analytics and user interactions to be analysed for understanding marketing, psychology, medical and usability patterns. The VR-3 eye tracking is even able to collect data from users wearing glasses or looking at extreme angles.
Third, the VR-3 now has one of the larger fields of view of any PC VR headset in the market. The VR-3’s 115 degree field of view is 32 degrees more than the VR-2 and is higher than the HP Reverb G2 and Oculus Rift S. The combination of human eye resolution with the expanded field of view, allows the VR-3 to provide one of the most realistic virtual reality experiences available on the market.
Finally, the VR-3 has integrated hand tracking. The VR-3’s integrated hand tracking technology, allows users to engage with the digital world naturally, without the need for controllers or an actual surface.
