How can I screencast with the HTC Vive Focus Plus?

In this article you will learn how to screencast with the HTC Vive Focus Plus.

What is needed:

  • HTC Vive Focus Plus
  • TV, projector or monitor that supports Miracast (most smart TVs come standard with Miracast), if your device does not support Miracast you can buy a Miracast dongle. 
  • Internet connection

Instructions for screencasting with a built-in Miracast receiver.

Important* If you can not connect with your TV immediately, open the application on your TV as well for the Miracast to work.
  1. Make sure both your HTC Vive Focus Plus headset and your Miracast device are connected to the same WiFi network.
  2. Switch on your TV / receiver and open the Miracast application
  3. Put on your HTC Vive Focus Plus, and double click the Vive button. This will take you to a quick menu.
  4. Select ‘Screencast’ from the quick menu. 
  5. Select the device you want to cast to.
Your HTC Vive Focus Plus screen should now be duplicated to this device.

Instructions for screencasting with a Miracast dongle.

  1. Make sure your Miracast dongle is connected to your TV
1.1 select the HDMI channel the dongle is connected to on your TV
  1. Connect the HTC Vive Focus Plus to the WiFi signal of the Miracast dongle.
  2. Put on your HTC Vive Focus Plus, and double click the Vive button. This will take you to a quick menu.
  3. Select ‘Screencast’ from the quick menu. 
  4. Select the device you want to cast to.
Your HTC Vive Focus Plus screen should now be duplicated to this device.
