Deutsche Telekom and VR Expert agree on partnership. VR Expert will support Deutsche Telekom in selling the RealWear HMT-1 smart glasses and provide them with trial devices and customer support. VR Expert will also offer webinars and training for Telekom account managers throughout Germany.
Deutsche Telekom is one of the world’s leading telecommunications companies, with over 240 million customers and around 230,000 employees in more than 50 countries. The consumer business focuses on broadband, mobile communications and Internet. Along with its consumer business, Deutsche Telekom has placed a huge emphasis on providing its key accounts and business customers with innovative information and communication technology solutions.
Deutsche Telekom plays a pioneering role in many areas and is a strong advocate of issues such as data privacy, diversity and sustainability. The company is always striving to find new ways to digitize and optimize work processes and make them more sustainable.
New challenges due to pandemic
During the Corona pandemic in particular, many companies were faced with new challenges. Digitization took a big leap during this time. One of the main challenges faced by many organisations was the restrictions on travel. More and more companies were therefore looking into innovative solutions for supporting employees remotely.
To deal with this new challenge, Telekom looked for pioneering solutions to support its employees. The solution the company came up with was to expand its product portfolio, by actively offering remote support solutions to its customers.
RealWear HMT-1 as a remote support solution
For Telekom’s remote support solution, the RealWear HMT-1 was selected as the choice of smart glasses. The RealWear HMT-1 is a voice-only head-mounted tablet designed specifically for industrial workers.
Using the HMT-1, workers can be assisted by remote experts during maintenance and inspections without the need for costly travel by an expert.
This ensures that fewer front-line workers are needed, response and repair time is reduced, and expert time can be better utilized. In addition, eliminating business travel avoids CO2 emissions and creates more sustainable work processes.
VR Expert and Telekom cooperate
In order to be able to offer business customers optimal, high-quality solutions, Deutsche Telekom has teamed up with leading enterprise hardware distributor VR Expert. VR Expert was selected by Telekom because of its many years of experience and expertise in the field of VR and AR.
VR Expert has the agility and flexibility desired by Telekom to handle orders of any size and ship devices pre configured and ready for use worldwide.
A major advantage is that VR Expert offers free trial periods for the RealWear HMT-1. During these periods, the devices are prepared and set up with the preferred software. This allows the remote support solution to be tested directly on site. During the test phase, the company also supports customers with training calls and is available at any time via a support hotline in 4 different languages. At the end of the test period, VR Expert arranges an evaluation meeting in which the application of the remote support solution is assessed and, if necessary, improved. This process ensures that Telekom’s customers get an accurate idea of the solution and that no open questions remain.
In order to provide Telekom’s account managers with the best possible support in selling the RealWear HMT-1, they are provided with marketing material in the form of Telekom-branded product sheets, catalogs and presentations. In addition, VR Expert offers webinars and training courses on all aspects of remote support.
“With VR Expert, we have found a specialized and responsive VR partner. VR Expert offers us an unmatched total package of service and hardware. They really deliver what the name already promises. We are very much looking forward to setting the course for a future of digitalization with VR Expert,” said Stefan Flory, Partner Account Manager at Telekom.
“We are very happy to introduce Deutsche Telekom, one of Germany’s leading companies, as our partner. We look forward to a future together.” said Alexander Obermüller, Managing Director at VR Expert D-A-CH.
