The VR application against chronic pain Reducept can now be downloaded from the Pico Store as of the 1st of September. The application from the Dutch company has been made ready for use with the Pico G2 4K, after it was announced that the sale of the very popular Oculus Go would stop at the end of this year. Until recently, the application could only be downloaded on an Oculus Go device.
The Reducept virtual reality application, which received a World Summit Award last year by the United Nations, helps to combat chronic pain. That Reducept actually helps against pain is supported by scientific research by the Nijmegen Radboud university medical center among forty respondents with chronic complaints. Brain films of the respondents with VR headsets showed that their brains reacted less strongly to pain compared to respondents without VR headsets.
The choice to transfer the game to the Pico G2 4K is not surprising. The Pico G2 4K is a so-called all-in-one VR headset, which means that the glasses can also be used without a connection with a smartphone and PC. The glasses have a 4K screen and therefore provide a very high image quality. The glasses are currently the best alternative to the Oculus Go, to play the Reducept VR application.
