The Challenge
Gardeners at Florensis sites can regularly be found in the greenhouses. During their tours of the greenhouse, they check, among other things, how the plants are growing and whether certain plants need additional treatment. During these inspections, growers regularly encounter problems for which they need the help of an external or internal expert.
These experts are not on site and therefore have to get to the location first to solve the problem. This not only costs a lot of time, but also a lot of money. Therefore, Florensis was looking for a solution that would allow growers to get support from experts without them actually having to be present at the production sites.
The Solution
After consulting with VR Expert, Florensis decided to finally go with the RealWear HMT-1. With this AR device, it is possible to call the expert remotely. Via video call, the expert accompanies the grower directly at the production site, helping to solve the problems.
The main reason for choosing the RealWear HMT-1 is the fact that it is very robust. The RealWear can also be operated completely hands-free by voice, so that the grower can immediately follow the instructions of the expert.
By using RealWear equipment, Florensis saves costs and gives employees the opportunity to control the cultivation of plants remotely. In practical terms, this means that the experts’ time is better used.
