Transurb Simulation found its scaleable and affordable Nano Simulator – a physical simulation with a monitor, touchscreen, and physical controls – didn’t deliver enough immersion and impact on learning retention as the more costly, less scalable Full-Cab Simulator – a comprehensively-built clone of a train cabin for complete immersion.
Similarly, a need for onlookers in their training sessions to see what the learner in the simulation sees was paramount to uphold Transurb’s high standard of training quality.
Transurb needed to find the sweet spot between portability and immersion. At the same time, the train conductor and training industry increased their requests for cost-effective and immersive technology solutions.
