RealWear HMT-1
The Refurbished RealWear HMT-1 can be controlled hands-free. Thanks to 4 digital microphones and advanced algorithms, the voice recognition software can work with industrial background noises of around 95 Db.

Software used

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams, developed by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft 365 suite, serves as a collaborative platform for teams and doubles as a remote support solution compatible with AR headsets.

The Challenge

At the Autry-Le-Châtel site in France, Bayer specializes in the production of tomato and bell pepper seeds. Due to Covid restrictions, it was no longer possible to welcome stakeholders at the site. However, monitoring the growth of the tomato and bell pepper plants plays an important role in the cultivation process.

Bayer therefore set out to find a solution to allow stakeholders to virtually visit Bayer’s site in Autry-Le-Châtel in order to share the plants’ growing behavior.

The Solution

Bayer worked with VR Expert to develop the optimal solution for their use case. After extensive consultation by VR Expert, Bayer decided to implement the assisted reality headset RealWear HMT-1 in combination with the remote support software Microsoft Teams.

Through the jointly developed remote support solution, Bayer is now able to take specialists on virtual tours of its greenhouses.

In addition, the RealWear HMT-1 is used for remote audits and communication with external crop advisors.

Through this solution, Bayer can now connect with specialists and stakeholders easily and quickly at any time.
